echo:Art Fair 2014 edition, part one

The fourth annual echo:Art Fair has come and gone.
Once again at the Central Library in downtown Buffalo,
this year's exhibit hall promoted the work of 76 artists.
More than 600 artworks were displayed in 44 booths.

By our accurate counts, six thousand visitors enjoyed the
event, and over one hundred artworks were sold by
Sunday afternoon.

I didn't get photos of the installations and performances,
but here are the pics I shot on Saturday morning before
the doors opened. My apologies for a few of the fuzzier
photos. That's what happens when you rely too heavily
on auto-focus.

More from echo:Art Fair, 2014. Mine is the six booth below.

Constructive week in the studio, albeit chilly.
In this cold snap, I start the day at about 56 degrees.
The fluorescents and the heater get the room up to about
63 by late afternoon. If I keep moving, I shed layers all day.
This week I stretched six fresh canvasses, two each:
36 x 36, 36 x 48, and 48 x 48.
74 square feet of gessoed playground.

Laundry Day

... continuing on,
here's a detail, mid-week:

Wednesday morning, I think.

Palette view, Thursday afternoon:

Late Thursday afternoon. I'll let it sit over the weekend,
let it dry, give it a coat of Liquin, then bring it together.

Sunday in the Studio

Just trying to get a good start in the new year.

Back to meditation practice, then prep palette.

 Get ready.

Go.

Eat lunch. Back for more.

Go home.
Come back tomorrow.
